All Star Smashers Lore

Within the Intros and Outros of All Star Smashers' character moveset videos, there exists a story connecting the characters together in the world of All Star Smashers. The lore of character interactions and world are explored and hinted at in these video segments.

Timeline of Events[]

Before All Star Smashers[]

Pete the Cheerful Bus Driver and Finn Palmer go on a bizarre adventure together and end up getting married to one another, until Finn somehow conjures lightning and murders Pete. Finn is arrested while Pete is later revived by Dincent Dan Gough. Upon his resurrection, Pete passes by a certain White House and decides to sign up for All Star Smashers, retiring as a bus driver in the process, yet he still kept the bus. Limited Era[]

The All Star Smashers committee is established by Harry Bradshaw.
Lee Saunderson, Sonny Slaven, Brad Till and Brodi Welsford are all invited.
As a possible initiation process to the project, Lee and Sonny have an epic fight to show off their skills. Lee ends up winning the fight. [Lee vs. Sonny]
Lee makes a video showing off his copy of Smash Bros. Lawl, only to be pestered by Edward Yui yet again, until he is told off by a teacher. Lee receives his invitation shortly after [Lee Intro]
Lee goes to visit Sonny, telling him that he's been invited to All Star Smashers, also telling him to pay him back for the fight they had. Sonny initially agrees, but is told not to, as he's still grounded for eating at McDonald's. Edward visits Sonny as well, and shows him and Lee Sonny's invitation. [Sonny Intro]
Brad Till visits another lift in Elevator Land. While there, he ends up in a new area he's never been before, making him cautious and ready to fight. [Brad Intro]
Matthew Whitehead is seen in the Weewoo Warehouse, bitter that he wasn't invited to All Star Smashers. He then hatches a plan, using a pizza to change his voice into an entirely different one. He then forcefully invites himself to the roster. He also poisons Sonny wit a Black Egg. [Matthew Intro]
During auditions for new potential characters, ASS President Harry Bradshaw himself auditions for a role as a playable character. Despite being the President, he demands to be added as well. During his speech, Matthew confronts him, and Harry summons his Old Toys to protect him from Matthew. [Harry B Intro]
Megan Williams tries to beat Brodi to the bus stop, but fails yet again as Brodi is simply too fast. [Brodi Intro]
Amanda the Panda is (forcefully) invited. Amanda sees a few poachers chasing after her Panda Pals, and looks ready to stop them, but Matthew and Brad go after them beforehand. While Brad goes off to deal with more poachers, Matthew claims that he is a kung-fu genius, angering Amanda. She then claims that she doesn't want her moveset now, she wants it NOW!!! Oscar the White Tiger is invited. Amanda goes to visit him to tell him the news, but Oscar tells her to leave him alone, as he is taking a nap. [Oscar Intro]

Business Era[]

MimeFan is invited. While hosting another episode of Mega Character Elimination, Oscar and Amanda arrive and request to join his show. MimeFan accepts their request, and Amanda informs him that his request to join All Star Smashers was approved. MimeFan faints over this news. [MimeFan Intro]
MimeFan has a message for the mad God of the ASS universe, thanking him for adding him to the roster, and also requesting that he add Maxwell, Horrid Henry and Papa Louie to the roster too. [MimeFan Outro]
Talking Joe is invited. TJ is seen once again heading to the House of Fear. After eventually escaping from the House of Fear, TJ decides to go back, due to enjoying being chased while he was in there. He eventually leaves upon receiving an invitation. [TJ Intro/Outro]
Pete the Cheerful Bus Driver is invited. After initially being killed by Finn Palmer, Dincent Dan Gough finds the cells to bring Pete back to life, reviving him. Upon his revival, Pete decides to turn over a new leaf, joining All Star Smashers and accidentally knocking Harry B over while he was drunk driving. [Pete Intro]
Pete drives several students to school once again, and Finn is not happy about it. [Pete Outro]
Hilary Sherlock is invited. While out in the local tavern, he meets Pete and strikes up a conversation with the Cheerful Bus Driving Charm. They seem to hit it off, and decide to leave and play golf together, not before doing the infamous Bros Pose when they go outside. Hilary also shows Pete his copy of the All Star Smashers prototype during their conversation. [Hilary Intro/Outro]
Edward Yui is (finally) invited. Edward annoys Lee yet again when he tries to speak to the audience. Edward then yells at the audience and proceeds to ground them. Lee, obviously annoyed, calls upon Oscar and Amanda to detain him. They take him to the ASS courtroom, where Harry B makes an announcement with Sonny and MimeFan also present. He informs the guys of Edward's intention to "kill people", and decided the only solution left is to invite him to the roster, much to Edward's delight. [Edward Intro]

Attention Era[]

Captain Underpants is invited. While flying around, he is ambushed by Robo-George and The Harold 2000. The duo overpower him, sending the Waistband Warrior into an unknown location, which turned out to be the world of All Star Smashers. [Captain Underpants Intro]
Per MimeFan's request, Maxwell, Papa Louie and Horrid Henry are all invited.
Maxwell is seen walking around, and looks at his notepad, revealing that he won a quick vote, allowing him to be the next character to receive a moveset. Maxwell is pleased by this, and Bros Poses with a disembodied hand to celebrate. [Maxwell Intro]
It is later revealed that Papa Louie would be the next moveset, and Horrid Henry would be after him. Henry isn't pleased about it. [Maxwell Outro]
Lee Saunderson and his dad go to Papa's Pizzeria to order some food, where they meet Papa Louie. Lee ends up ordering a massive amount of food. The Papa advises him not to eat that much food, or else he'll get fat. Lee's dad agrees, but Lee gets angry and begins embarrassing his dad in public. He then throws a tantrum and tries to destroy the Pizzeria, but the Papa stops him, prompting a fight. [Papa Louie Intro]
Papa Louie moves into the HQ and heads to the kitchen, possibly to serve some food for his fellow fighters. But upon entering, he's unexpectedly greeted by the arrival of Horrid Henry. [Papa Louie Outro]
Horrid Henry makes his way to the HQ, after finally receiving his invitation, having a minor confrontation with Maxwell on the way. [Henry Intro]
Henry forms a band with Sonny Slaven, Talking Joe and Maxwell. Sonny dances and sings his "Tangent Grub" song, much to TJ's amusement. Meanwhile, back in Henry's House, Fang prepares to use the TV remote, but is suddenly attacked by Garfield, who takes the remote for himself. [Henry Outro]
Garfield is invited as the winner of the first All Star Smashers Empty Slot. Jon Arbuckle informs him that he's out of shape, so he buys him Lawl Shoes. However, Garfield kicks the shoes in Jon's face, KO'ing him, since he isn't joining Lawl, but rather All Star Smashers instead. [Garfield Intro]
Garfield, having now moved into the ASS HQ, tries to watch Barney the Dinosaur on the TV. Papa Louie notices this and tries to fix the TV so that Garfield can watch it, only to be jumpscared by Barney the Dinosaur himself. [Garfield Outro]
Go!Caillou is invited. He asks his parents for a new video game, but Go!Doris denies him for calling his sister Go!Rosie a stupid brat. Go!Boris sends Go!Caillou upstairs to his room, but Go!Caillou secretly sneaks into Morshu's shop, and buys the All Star Smashers demo, where he finds himself added as a playable character. He ends up criticising his own moveset, just as Go!Boris comes upstairs to catch him in the act. Go!Caillou ends up grounded yet again. [Go!Caillou Intro/Outro]
Finn Palmer, Tim Carter, The Angry Boss, Jared Bruceton, Dincent Dan Gough and Grandpa Gorilla are all invited.
Action 52 is invited on Christmas. Finn opens his Christmas present, and upon realising it's the horror that is Action 52, he screams in despair, along with Horrid Henry and Angry Boss, who blames Bruceton. [Action 52 Intro]
Finn is seen riding in Pete's bus yet again, when an unknown disembodied voice approaches him, inviting him to join All Star Smashers, which he refuses. He is later shown his own moveset, which he also ends up disliking, and tells this mysterious man on Diane, who confiscates his Nintendo DS. Finn ends up joining anyway. [Finn Intro/Outro]

HTML Era[]

Chadtronic is invited as the winner of the second annual All Star Smashers Empty Slot. He wakes up to someone knocking on his door to the End of the Internet. He opens it to find an unknown entity, who throws Action 52 at him. This mysterious being tells him that he must complete Action 52. But rather than do that, Chad goes to throw A52 a very long distance into the sky. He later returns home to find the All Star Smashers prototype in his room, much to his shock. [Chadtronic Intro]
Pete and Finn play the All Star Smashers prototype. Chad, who had recently moved into the HQ upon his invitation, angrily tells Pete and Finn to turn the volume down, as he's trying to make a new video for his YouTube channel. Only Finn notices him while Pete does not. [Chadtronic Outro]
Billy Slaven is invited. While at their house, Sonny, along with Sunset Shimmer, tell Billy who the mystery character added to the ASS roster is, revealing it to be Billy himself. Full of excitement over getting to join the roster, Billy celebrates with a victory lap. [Billy Intro]
The Slaven Brothers stare at each other aggressively, and look ready to have a battle of epic proportions. [Billy Outro]
Literally the freaking Air itself is invited. Thin Air arrives to an unknown area to confront Captain Underpants, Papa Louie, Horrid Henry, Garfield, Action 52 and Chadtronic. Chad understandably freaks out over the fact they're being confronted by literally nothing at all. [Thin Air Intro]
Thin Air moves into the All Star Smashers HQ, and passes by Tim Carter, Angry Boss and Bruceton, who are all waiting for their movesets. All 3 of them end up completely shocked. [Thin Air Outro]
Finn is seen in the ASS HQ's playground minding his own business, but he becomes annoyed by Garfield's antics. He goes to Tim Carter, asking him to deal with the orange feline, only for Tim to be Chadtronic in disguise. Unbeknownst to Chad, the real Tim is right behind him... [Tim Outro]
Angry Boss is shown the All Star Smashers prototype as well as his moveset, courtesy of Bruceton and his I-Pod. Angry Boss ends up not pleased with this antic, and all the other stooges leave Bruceton to face The Boss' wrath. [Angry Boss Intro/Outro]
Bruceton once again pledges to his co-workers to help him "Save the Workers". He also announces his inclusion in All Star Smashers, where he claims he arranged for the powers that be have him face Angry Boss in a 1-ON-1. [Bruceton Intro]
Bruceton, channeling his inner Big E, once again tells The Boss not to dare be sour, to clap for the Trollord of the Workforce, and to feel the power. He then sings the New Day's WWE theme song to a very annoyed Garfield, who's trying to sleep. [Bruceton Outro]
Dincent Dan Gough moves into the ASS HQ, introducing himself to the other fighters, and welcoming all of them to The Wonderful World of Science. [Dan Intro]
Dan checks out news updates on All Star Smashers on his computer, wondering who the 30th character moveset will be. It's revealed to be Grandpa Gorilla. [Dan Outro]
Grandpa Gorilla arrives to an unknown apartment building, where he finds Memy9909 and Warren Cook watching Grounded Videos on the TV. GG soon after dispatches of both of them by throwing them out of the window. Shortly after, Brad Till shows up, and demands that GG leave the apartment, which turns out to be his. GG complies and takes his leave. [GG Intro]
GG looks at Banana Globe City one last time, before he heads off to the All Star Smashers HQ. [GG Outro]
Elouise Pitman is invited. After her invitation, the entire roster takes a ride on Pete's bus while he and Finn sing the Steam Train theme song. [Elouise Outro]

Separation Epoch[]

During All Star Smashers' lengthy hiatus, Harry Hill, Otto Hill, Tabatha the Tortoise, Ollie the Snow Leopard, Moody Margaret and Professor Poopypants are all invited. Steve Burns and Fred Flintstone are also invited as the winners of the fourth and fifth Empty Slots.
Super Minecraft Kid is invited. He is sent the All Star Smashers prototype to play, but he disapproves of the game due to its "gay-ass cartoon graphics". He ends up receiving an invitation shortly after. [SMK Intro]
SMK stands in Harry Bradshaw's Oval Office, presumably either having just been interviewed or waiting to be interviewed. While there, he finds the Butter Sword, and an unknown disembodied voice tells him of its magical properties. Intrigued, SMK uses the Butter Sword to bring somebody back to life. Unfortunately for him, the person he revives ends up being his History Teacher. SMK presumably kills him again shortly after. [SMK Outro]
Greg Heffley is invited as the winner of the third All Star Smashers Empty Slot. He makes a speech at the HQ's Press Room, introducing and telling the other fighters about himself, before SMK interrupts him, wanting to test his skills on Greg. They briefly fight, and just before Greg can execute a Final Smash, his mother interrupts the fight, telling Greg to stay where he is while his dad comes to collect him, much to his embarrassment. He later rips a page out of his journal in the bathroom. [Greg Intro]
Greg sees his baby brother, Manny playing Yume Nikki, where he sees him in Poniko's room. Having played the game before, he tries to stop Manny from triggering the Uboa Event, to no avail. Manny ends up traumatised for life. [Greg Outro]

Ultimate Era[]

Papa Louie and Horrid Henry have a sparring match in Final Destination. Although Henry gets the upper hand, Amanda and Tabatha arrive, both wearing eye patches. Amanda then gives Papa Louie an eye patch too, and Henry complains about it being unfair. It's later announced that Lee Saunderson would be the first to receive an Update Patch. Sonny Slaven waits in the HQ's hospital for his Patch Surgery. The doctor reveals himself soon after to be a disembodied giant hand, which Sonny mistakes for Master Hand. He receives his Update Patch shortly after. [Sonny Update Patch Intro]
After another hiatus, more characters are invited to the roster, including Donny Dlaven, Captain Blunderpants, Lily, Genesis 52, Dennis the Menace and Mark the Moose. Also, Emrly the Snail is invited alongside Tabatha, and Blue is invited alongside Steve. Along with them, 8 more invitations are sent out to 8 more newcomers.
The events of the first All Star Smashers Direct occur;
- Sonny ends up still in the hospital bed even after his Update Patch. He ends up in there for so long, various Assist Trophies arrive to check on him, including Shia LaBeouf, who motivates him to wake up. However, Shia's motivational speech is so powerful, he ends up accidentally blowing Sonny up. After coming to, Sonny ends up in the Mirror World, where he meets up with Lee Saunderson, who has also mysteriously ended up there for reasons unknown. Lee explains to Sonny that the world contains lost memories, and mentions that he encountered Danny Robinson in one of his mirrors. Lee convinces Sonny to look into a mirror too, which he does. To his horror, the person he recognises turns out to be his psychotic evil twin brother, Donny Dlaven. He seemingly looks happy to see Sonny again, but shortly after orders Sonny to "let him in". - Sooly, Rodrick Heffley, The Zookeeper and Mike Myers' Cat in the Hat are all also invited.
- The mirror breaks, and Donny confronts Sonny face-to-face. Sonny deduces that the Mirror World holds the roster's Memory Fighters, and that Donny is one of them. Donny becomes angry with his twin, planning to exact revenge on his twin for abandoning him. Lee defends Sonny, and the two fight against Donny, but are easily defeated by him. He then launches Sonny out of the Mirror World. [Donny Outro]
- Sonny returns to the ASS hospital, seemingly having had a nightmare. Donny's ghost form apparently possesses Sonny shortly after, causing him to suddenly wake up. Sonny notices that all of the Assist Trophies are gone, with the exception of Russ the Goat, who latches onto Sonny, and launches him away. - Back in the Mirror World, Donny confronts the Fat Sandbag, mistaking him for Troll J yet again. He declares that he deserves "a girl for memories to come". He then vanishes, and Utsuro Hinohara appears, demanding that the Fat Sandbag leave. She then proceeds to chase him away, just before Mishiro Usui arrives, heading for the Cracked Smile Dinner Party. While there, she is informed by another guest that there is an impostor among them. Mishiro investigates, and finds out that the individual acting sus is not one, but three people: Memy9909, Warren Cook and the Fat Sandbag, who somehow evaded Utsuro earlier. In hopes that she doesn't inform the guests that they are the impostors, Memy gives Mishiro an invitation to join All Star Smashers, making her genuinely happy. Utsuro then returns, demanding that Mishiro hand the invitation over, which was apparently hers. She then proceeds to chase Memy, Warren and the Sandbag again, before Mishiro stops her. - Meanwhile back in the real world, the ground starts to shake as we see modernised versions of previous events, such as Tim Carter's outro, Brodi Welsford's intro and Hilary's outro, as well as Angry Boss in a chef's apron seemingly being pranked by Bruceton off-screen. Eventually, we are shown the intro to Thin Air's moveset, where it is revealed that Captain Underpants, Papa Louie, Horrid Henry, Garfield, Action 52 and Chadtronic never encountered Thin Air at all, and Garfield is revealed to actually be Maxwell in disguise. Maxwell summons a light switch to reveal the group trapped in a shark tank of sorts, courtesy of Admiral Bubbles. He attempts to drown them all with water, only for it to come out incredibly slowly, much to the Admiral's annoyance. Lucky for him, The Toad arrives to help by flushing a wave of water into the area, submerging everyone and turning Captain Underpants back into Mr. Krupp. The two evil geniuses form an alliance and use their combined efforts to create a tidal wave of water, drowning the entire HQ in chaos. - Amidst all the mayhem, Matthew Whitehead uses his Kill to get the hell out of dodge. He leaves the HQ and gets transported to the Wildlife desert, just before someone else falls into the area too. While casually walking around, Oscar the White Tiger sees a shadow above him, the shadow of the other person who fell into the desert. Meanwhile, Amanda the Panda sees a few of her Panda Pals running away as Matthew, being Matthew, immediately begins to start harming the wildlife. This understandably makes Amanda mad, and she tries to kick Matthew in the face, only to miss as Matthew manages to get out of the way just in time. Tabatha & Emrly pull Oscar aside as the shadow gets bigger and bigger, just as Matthew lands in his place. This mysterious stranger ends up falling on and crushing Matthew, while the impact is witnessed by Grandpa Gorilla in the distance. Ollie the Snow Leopard and Russ the Goat arrive to witness the commotion, where it's revealed that the person who fell on Matthew was none other than Neptune, who awkwardly introduces herself to Ollie and Russ. - Dantavius is invited as a Narrator. He does a review on All Star Smashers, specifically talking about Oscar the White Tiger, Dincent Dan Gough and Captain Underpants. He claims they all have something in common; That being absolutely nothing, and declares that he's gonna "slap the shit outta these schmucks". [Dantavius Narrator Intro]
- After having some gabagool at Papa's Pizzeria, Dan leaves the establishment in his BMW. Along the way, he sees Franklin in his car, and is not happy about it. [Dantavius Narrator Outro]
Seemingly taking place during the events of the third Empty Slot, Harry Hill destroys a miniature figurine of Wallace, before he confronts him and Gromit at the Lawl Gates, most likely bitter over them defeating him in the Empty Slot tournament, and challenges them to a fight. [Harry Hill Intro]
Otto Hill sits in his Blackpool lair, trying to call Ed. However, Neptune answers him instead and announces that she will be the next character to receive a moveset, while also stating that it would be released in 2023. Otto, annoyed by this, hangs up on Nep and calls her a fool. [Otto Hill Outro/ASStation]
Carrying over from the intro to Harry Hill's moveset, Harry is effortlessly defeated by Wallace in his Were Rabbit form, and seemingly dies. He then ends up in the Mirror World and is confronted by Otto Hill, much to Harry's confusion, as according to Harry, Otto is supposed to be dead, referring his own elimination earlier in the Empty Slot tournament. Otto decides to wipe the smile off Harry's face by showing him a mirror with Ed and Kisko's help. Harry looks into the mirror and sees the reflection of Professor Branestawm. [Branestawm Intro]
The mirror breaks and Branestawm appears in front of Harry. Harry immediately takes a liking to Branestawm due to their uncanny resemblance to one another. Suddenly, his cuckoo clock begins malfunctioning and Branestawm offers to fix it. He does so, and a sausage ends up hitting Kisko in the face. Otto then attacks Harry, launching him away before he bros poses with Branestawm. Harry ends up being launched out of the Mirror World just as Neptune falls into it. Harry then emerges from Mirror Lake, expressing his desire to not live down there. [Branestawm Outro]
It's Christmas time in the All Star Smashers HQ, and the entire ASS roster celebrate the festive holiday. Among them are Horrid Henry, Action 52, Finn Palmer, Angry Boss and Ollie the Snow Leopard. The group sees a large purple present in front of the tree. A52 uses the Firebreather to open the present, revealing none other than Mark the Moose. [Mark Intro]
Mark introduces himself to the group, with Finn disbelieving that a moose can talk, Ollie pointing out that Mark is his rival, and Boss saying that he sucks. Then, a Hyperdimension Neptunia style boss battle takes place, where the group battles against Mark. However, Ollie notices Henry is absent. Henry is then seen talking with Dennis the Menace about his Christmas wishes until Tim Carter comes by with a Christmas present. (that he took from Mark during the fight after being summoned by Finn) Henry attacks Tim and steals the present, then goes to Lowee to see what it is, revealing a copy of Neptunia GameMaker R:Evolution. Disgusted due to it being girly, Henry throws the game away, just as Neptune falls from the sky yet again. Upon falling, the game ends up right in her lap. [Mark Outro]
