Mark the Moose is a singing, dancing and skating stuffed moose, who was created by the marketing company, Avon Products in 2002. Mark is a big fanatic of Christmas, and loves spreading Christmas cheer, as well as skating and decorating, while his Christmas lights glow. He simply loves this time of year, and is the merry, merriest moose you'll ever know.
How to unlock[]
Play All Star Smashers on December 25th.
Playstyle[]
Mark is an interactive toy whose only purpose is to sing, skate and spread joy to get people into the Christmas spirit. This seasonal theme of giving make him a fighter of many status effects with a snowflake of getting. His enthusiasm makes up for his otherwise limited recoveries with his vocal nature resulting in alt hitboxes. No matter what time of the year it is, use Mark's wishes of peace and happiness to pummel your rivals into the naughty list!
Entrance: Gift of Peace and Happiness[]
Mark announces "The holidays are here!" as he pops out of a Christmas present.
Move Origin[]
This is based on the Christmas tradition of exchanging and receiving Christmas gifts.
Neutral B: Slay Bells[]
Mark tosses a bell in a Belmont style arc. The bell bounces off the ground with decreased momentum each land. The vibration's stun waves can only be activated in the air once per throw per throw via Neutral B again. When the bell is flying upwards, it does vertical launching while downwards spikes.
Move Origin[]
This is based on the opening lyric to Mark's song, "Do you hear that? Those are sleigh bells!" The move is referred to in-game as Slay Bells to reference its offensive properties. Note: All of Mark's special moves use the same Inspiration Clip.
Side-B: Christmas Cheer[]
Mark "spreads" the Christmas spirit, which on its own might as well be an extra taunt. But if an opponent tries to attack Mark, he can spread his cheer on the attacker to gift himself some health. Within a period of 15 seconds, (which is also the length of his song) each missed use of that specific attack equals another present for Mark. Mark can "spread cheer" on up to 3 moves per opponent. This gift is also not restricted to just normals, as special moves are also affected. The first one's cheer must wear off before Mark can register another one of their moves. But be careful, as Mark will not be healed if said attack connects with anything. The contrary is only the case when Mark registers the attack. Mark cannot double heal from the same attack. Only a variety of moves eat up the limit.
Move Origin[]
This is based on the lyric of Mark's song, "Spreading Christmas cheer!"
Up-B: Skate & Decorate[]
Mark uses his skates to ski across the stage. Hold B to ski across the ground in an attempt to rip through your opponents, then release B for a vertical-only flip kick. Press A when skating to decorate Mark, which indicates the landing avalanche's impact. More decorations increase the avalanche's size and its freeze duration, should anyone get caught in it. Mark can wear up to 5 decorations. As an added bonus, the reason why Mark only flips vertically is because you can hold B midair to ski glide. And yes, Mark can still decorate himself. You can also hit a decorated Mark to cancel the avalanche should he land.
Move Origin[]
This is based on the lyric to Mark's song, "I love to skate and decorate!"
Down-B: Christmas Lights Of Glow[]
Mark slides a glowing lantern across the floor. Its colours constantly flicker between the primary and secondary colours in its formulaic order. The lights last for 15 seconds, again, the length of Mark's song. The effect can also last until someone lands on the lantern. Their fate depends on the approached colour.
- Red, the default light, leads to standard damage.
- Orange leads to campfire, causing fire damage.
- Yellow leads to those who touch it to be stunned.
- Green leads to confusion, which reverses controls and even slips those going a certain distance.
- Blue leads to the opponent becoming frozen much like the Up-B.
- Finally, Purple leads to people falling asleep.
Trying to place a second lantern makes for an ideal ledge guard. You can even hold down the button to light up Mark himself, then release B at the right time to change Mark's colour. At the cost of a trap cooldown, Mark will permanently remain this colour until his next smash attack. Said attacks charge time will determine its effectiveness depending on the respective colour. For example, Red deals a max of 1.5x increase. Mark returns to his normal colour regardless if whether the smash attack lands or not. The cooldown for self-lighting after that is 30 seconds.
Move Origin[]
This is based on the lyric to Mark's song, "My Christmas lights of glow!"
Final Smash: Advent Calendar[]
Mark summons a giant Advent Calendar. 24 presents fly out of the calendar in numerical order, flying out in random directions, which deal damage upon impact. After all 24 presents are scattered, the 25th present, revealing a prickly wreath for the final blow. But if Mark is at the very centre of the calendar, then the last present instead contains candy just for him, which can heal him.
Move Origin[]
This is based on real life Advent Calendars, which much like Mark's entrance, are also a famous Christmas tradition.

To Ollie the Snow Leopard[]
"Hey, do you hear those sleigh bells? That means the winter games are here!"
"Sounds like my kinda thing! Haven't we met someplace else?"
"I was having a ski from the grotto when the elves told me about this snow leopard who was sad about not getting any play time."
"That's me, yippee! I don't seem to be the most popular toy in the cabinet, you see..."
"That's why I'm challenging you to a dream skate-off. There's a Dino Doll for the first prize!"
"Ah, I could imagine a seventh member of the Chubby Club. And what happens if I lose?"
"I'll spill the beans to Oscar that Chubby is actually made of paper since he's on the Naughty List anyway."
"You can't do that! Everyone in Toyworld knows he would suffer a fatal blow! Right, playtime starts now: Let the Christmas Cheer begin!"
